Yoga & Conservation Retreat, Namibia

Honouring the Feminine: A yoga and conservation retreat for women, centred on honouring the Feminine and reconnecting with Mother Earth.

Oana Nature Reserve, Namibia

In addition to twice daily yoga, meditation, and breath-work in various magnificent outdoor settings, we will be offering a host of conservation-related activities, including leopard research, camera-trapping, conservation seminars, nocturnal biodiversity surveys, small mammal game counts, and a hike to the mighty Orange River.

This retreat is specifically a Women’s retreat and will include yoga for self-care and resilience, as well as practices that support a healthy body image and pelvic organ health. In addition, we will spend time exploring the menstrual and lunar cycles and how we can use these gifts to move more freely through our lives. And of course, in being a retreat for the Feminine, there will be ample time for reflection, flow, creativity, and rest.

We will be staying in a spectacular desert tented camp with all the home comforts to make your stay extra special. Oana is not a luxury safari tented camp, but a bedouin style camp with running hot showers, flush loos, stretchers and bedrolls in your rooms.

Your bedroom will be a canvas safari tent, two per tent, but you can have your own if you wish (four single-sleepers are available on a first-booked basis).

This is a yoga retreat with a difference, in a place where few people have been.

Retreat dates: March 25th - 29th 2020

Price: ZAR 7,500 includes accommodation, all meals (nutritious, vegetarian and home-made), twice-daily yoga and meditation, conservation seminars, leopard camera trapping, small mammal survey, hiking, as well as beading and bread-making workshops. Funds from the retreat will go directly into the conservation and rewilding of the reserve (visit www.oananamibia to learn more about their conservation projects).
